Canal Flats 2003

The Canal Flats area was visited again this year, it made a good base for exploring the central Kootenays.  A forest fire smoldered above camp - each morning we were awakened by helicopters dumping loads of water on the ridge above us.  It was a relief each evening to see the camp still standing.  Hamilton & Nasty biked in to the Elk/Wigwam valley and had a great time.  Hopefully others will join us in the future.  Kids visited eight rivers during the trip.

Pat & Rob Edge at the Jamba pot Tate with his wonderful Industrial IPA. The "DJ Bet".  It held the first night - Edge lost the $5 bet, double-or-nothing bet was called off because DJ forced his way into Pat's tent and slept in the dirt.

Hoodoos on the way up the Kootenay river. Tate with his first trip fish (well he dropped it before the photo). Edge & Tommy consider the cliff trail leading to the Findlay Falls hole. Findlay creek hole.
