Blazing sun and warm, low waters greeted the 2004 LD crew; fishing was nearly fruitless and at times, brutally hot. Refuge was taken in the soothing waters of Colgate and Jerry Johnson hot springs. Several river nymphs were spotted, but the battle was on with the biting flies and the unrelenting sun and heat.
With a small group we were able to move nimbly from one spot
to another but we never ventured far from shade or hot mineral water.
To complicate matters, a hideous forest demon was spotted close to camp and
frightened all the LaborDay Gang. With nothing but dark forest to hide
us, we scattered to all corners of the campsite near the river's edge.
After a short time the demon vanished and no one appeared to be hurt - Tiny
Fate's newly regrown pubic-like mane was several shades lighter... as if he
were frightened nearly to death. To see the photo captured by DJ
